Connect Modbus RTU Servers to a BACnet MS/TP System

The 460MMBMS enables data transfer between up to 32 Modbus RTU servers and a BACnet MS/TP BAS. It serves as an ideal solution for integrating Modbus power meters, boilers, chillers, and various other devices into your BACnet MS/TP Building Automation System. Moreover, this product, manufactured in the USA, is consistently available in stock and includes a 5-year warranty.

How Do I Use the 460MMBMS in My Application?

ChatGPT
Mapping for most applications is straightforward. The gateway maps Modbus register data to BACnet analog objects and Modbus coil data to binary objects on BACnet. The only additional requirement for BACnet is adding metadata, which consists of ASCII descriptions for each object. Configuring the gateway does not require a deep understanding of either protocol. It’s simple. If you need to modify your data as it passes between protocols, each data mapping can incorporate up to three mathematical functions. You can easily add four to a value, multiply by four, or divide by 10.

Move Your Data Bi-directionally

You can both send and receive data to and from your Modbus RTU server devices. Registers and coils in the Modbus RTU servers are mapped directly to BACnet MS/TP properties of Analog Input, Analog Output, Binary Input, and Binary Output. Up to 150 Analog Inputs, 150 Analog Outputs, 1600 Binary Inputs, and 1600 Binary Outputs can be mapped to registers and coils in up to 31 Modbus RTU server devices.

Why Use Real Time Automation as a Gateway Supplier?

The 460MMBMS provides an option to access Modbus RTU server devices on your BACnet MS/TP manager. While there are certainly other companies offering protocol gateways, there is no one who provides the level of support and service that you receive from Real Time Automation. When you call us, a live person answers the phone. If you talk with our sales team, you will get honest answers and recommendations. And rest assured, all the support you get is from an engineer who had a hand in the product’s development, and support doesn’t need a ticket or 24-hour wait. We get back to you as soon as possible. It’s an RTA promise.

What our Customers are Saying

“I challenged a customer to get it working by the time I got back from his break room with a Coke and he indeed had it working when I got back. He then said, "It’s worth twice the price!"”

Eric P. / Kendall Electric

“Everything seems to be working as we imagined. Thanks for the great response time. I did not see any way to save the configuration other than screen shots, but the configuration did not get lost in the update. Thanks again, and you were a pleasure to work with.”
